Canyon Lodge is a hidden gem located approximately 20 km east of the Fish River Canyon. Nestled amidst the rugged terrain, this lodge seamlessly blends farmhouse charm with natural splendour. The anticipation builds as visitors turn off the main gravel road, surrounded by the soft colours of apricot sand merging with the pale green of euphorbias, providing a prelude to the beauty that awaits.
The lodge’s setting is enchanting, with 30 natural stone chalets scattered among rounded granite boulders. Canyon Lodge boasts 30 natural stone chalets, including 28 twin and 2 family chalets with four beds each. The lodge’s architecture exudes character and charm, perfectly complementing the rugged Fish River Canyon surrounds. Facilities on the property include a restaurant, bar, curio shop, a cold water swimming pool, and secure parking at the main lodge. Additionally, guests can stay connected with Wi-Fi, enjoy 24-hour security, and have mobile connectivity.
The chalets are equipped with amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Each chalet features air conditioning/heating, a safe, a veranda, and a hot water bottle for winter nights. The en-suite bathrooms come with showers and basic toiletries. Mosquito nets are provided for added comfort, and guests can enjoy tea/coffee facilities, a hairdryer, and an umbrella. The lodge’s down-to-earth attractiveness and homely ambiance make it an ideal retreat for those seeking a genuine and comfortable experience amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Fish River Canyon.
The Standard Twin Rooms at Canyon Lodge are nestled against granite bolders and the natural rocks are incorporated into the rooms. The rooms have twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with showers, and air conditioners.
These rooms are also nestled against the granite bolders. The Standard Family Rooms are airconditioned, open plan and have 2 single beds and a double bed with an en-suite bathroom. There are only 2 family rooms, 1 room with only a bath and another with a bath and a shower.

This hike (about 6 km) takes you right into Gondwana Canyon Park. You are accompanied by a guide who will gladly share his knowledge about the fascinating desert landscape around the canyon. This Tour does not go the Fish River Canyon.
Canyon Lodge drives you to a spot with a grand view. Watch the sunrise while enjoying coffee and tea. Then we walk back the short distance to the lodge. This tour does not include the Fish River Canyon.
